The Coalition for Self-Government in the West (CSGW) is a project of Sutherland Institute, a public policy think tank in Salt Lake City advocating conservative principles.
The CSGW’s mission is to protect freedom and opportunity around the West by promoting federalism and equipping state leaders – both public and private – to reclaim their powers and responsibilities under the United States Constitution.
Matt Anderson is the CSGW’s policy analyst. Matt has been featured in local and national media, including NPR, C-SPAN and a number of regional publications.
He has produced a number of papers in this field and most recently presented research on urban deer herd management policy at the Midwest Political Science Association’s annual conference. Matt is an active member of his community, volunteering on political campaigns, serving as a state delegate, and being actively involved with a number of conservation organizations.
He graduated from Utah State University in May 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and is pursuing a master of political science with an emphasis in natural resource and public lands policy. Matt is a sixth-generation Utahn, born and raised in Bountiful, where his ancestors settled in the mid-1800s.
